Todd's Hellbound Blog (back by popular demand!)
07/15/08 - We finished recording "Chuggy" tonite, and it has a brand spankin' new name......."Blood Scouts of America". Next up on Wednesday are vocals for "Magnum Opus"
7/10/08 - One of our strongest shows ever at Hell's Kitchen last Saturday, much thanks to our new friends Mechanism for making it happen.....tonite we finished all the guitar tracks for the new CD, next up vocals......we get to shake the rafters at Maggies again this Saturday, let's see if we can break the 116db we achieved there last May.....
6/21/08 - A great show at O'Gallaghers. Our pre-show pool games between us three (a regular thing now) were brutal. I think of course that I came out the clear winner of the evening....then we hit the stage for some more brutality......much fun. Thanks to our good friends Travis and Joe for making it happen....
6/13/08 - More rhythm guitars done, much excitement about the new CD. I think there are three songs to go on guitars then we tackle vocals. I'm heading into the woods for a couple of days without running water/electricity/internet to recharge my batteries and hopefully lower my blood pressure....
6/7/08 - Fucking killer show @ Hells Kitchen last nite! A great lineup with our new friends Sweet Root and Mechanism, thanks to Flash for making it happen. My neck hurts from too much head banging. Uploaded the "M&M Outtakes" video to myspace. Back to recording rythm guitar tracks for the new CD on Monday.
5/31/08 - John and I finished bass tracks tonite, and as usual, most were one takes........don't want him to get a big head though......next up rhythm guitars.
5/22/08 - I thought the drum tracks recorded on Monday were gonna suck because I was so hungover when I played them, but during playback tonite they sounded great. Wrapped up three more songs, time for me to do some (hopefully) minor edits, will take a week or so, next up is scratch guitar then bass.....
5/19/08 - Drum tracks recorded tonite, wrapping them up on Wednesday. Then I'll edit and we'll start in on Bass and Guitar. Shot some video footage during the song "Black Death" so expect another video to follow...
5/11/08 - The soundman @ Maggies told me we hit 116 on his decibel meter during our set last nite, the loudest he'd ever seen, but said it sounded great. We start recording (again) our second CD tomorrow, we're scrapping a bunch of songs and replacing them with better ones....Show this Friday at some Bar on Alki Beach.
3/11/08 - Nothing too exiting, two more songs finished, I just need to mixdown. Show coming up thursday at O'Gallaghers Tacoma.
2/19/08 - New songs beings written, old songs being recorded, and a show this Thursday at Cheers West!
1/29/08 - Not much new to report, a couple of great shows at Hell's Kitchen and Maggie O'Tools. Friday we get to party with our good friends Rewind in Bremerton!
1/03/08 - 12:13pm - Rehearsal nite - our first practice since the holiday break, we were a little rusty, but I sprayed a little WD40 in the room and all is well. We made a set list for Saturday's show at Hell's Kitchen, we're playing a new song nobody has heard before, plus some old ones, too.......
12/24/07 - 11:54pm - Santa begged for a new song, and he's coming down the chimney in six minutes to kick my ass......I made it just in time, Champagne and Misery is uploaded and ready for the masses....
12/13/07 - Rehearsal nite - John was deathly ill from food poisoning/stomach flu but forged on. We made a set list for the Cheer's West show, ran through the songs, then let John go home. Looking forward to the show, we haven't played live in a while. "Champagne" hopefully will be done by the weekend....
12/03/07 - Rehearsal nite - revisited and worked on "Magnum Opus" and "LaScorpia". Gave the guys rough mixes of "Champagne" - will get their feedback on Wednesday and if all is O.K. should have up this week or next. Also McCabe's shut down, our show on the 20th has moved to Cheers West.
11/29/07 - 12:31am - Rehearsal nite - finished a new song, working title "Magnum Opus". Farted around with "LaScorpia" and ran though a couple of other tunes. "Pimp Hands" is finished, I've been mixing it the last couple of days, should be ready in a week or so.......it sounds really good to my beer soaked ears, and has a new name - Champagne and Misery.
11/13/07 - 11:50pm - Rehearsal nite - broke in our new Seahawks beer bucket, messed around with some AC/DC and Metallica covers, ran through M.F.S. Also worked on the "Sabbath" and "Scorpions" sounding tunes. Vocals scheduled for "Pimp Hands" next Monday.
11/07/07 - 12:59am - Rehearsal nite - we wrapped up recording all the music for our next CD. Some preliminary mixing will ensue then we'll record some vocals, then some more mixing/mastering will follow. The songs will be released one at a time, not all at once. "Pimp Hands" will be the first. After we finished recording, we jammed and played as a band for the first time in quite a while, a little rough at first, but after a few songs it was just like riding the bicycle....
11/01/07 - 10:55pm - Rehearsal (recording) - Guitar tracks all finished except for a lead on "Buck"
10/25/07/ - 12:32am - Rehearsal (recording) nite - finished guitar tracks on "Lavita" and "T.I.T.S."
10/23/07 - 1:00am - Rehearsal (recording) nite - guitar tracks are done for "Pimp Hands", "Clive" and "Buck"
10/21/07 - 1:59am - So far plan is working, John and I finished bass tracks tonite.
10/17/07 - 11:52am - Rehearsal nite - Recorded a scratch guitar track for the new tunes.
10/16/07 - 12:22am - Rehearsal nite, nothing too serious, we sat around, bullshitted some, played a few songs and drank some beer, and had a great time. I finished drum tracks over the weekend, the plan is to record a scratch guitar track Wednesday nite, and bass tracks this weekend for the new tunes.
10/14/07 - 10:49pm - Holed up in my apartment all weekend and finished editing drum tracks. Next is a scratch guitar track so John can lay down his bass. I'm actually a little nervous about recording this one, I've always told the guys the day I can't make our new CD sound better than the last one is the day you can fire me as your engineer....
10/11/07 - 1:24am - Rehearsal nite, we have a brand new song, making this one wasn't easy (much yelling and screaming amongst us three), but it is extremely heavy and sounding good to my ear, working title is "Meth Fueled Suicide"......We're still on cloud 9 from the Bremerton show, one of our best ever, thanks to Pat in Rewind for making it happen....I hope to find some time this weekend to finish editing drum tracks for our next CD....
10/04/07 -12:12am - Finished editing drum tracks for Pimp Hands, Buck Wylde and Angry. Saturday's show is at Manette Saloon, 2113 East 11th Street, Bremerton WA (360) 792-0801
10/02/07 - 12:29am - Well I've recovered/survived a hard drive crash on my music computer, had to reinstall everything, but now back up and running, and have just started editing the drum tracks for the new CD. We have a show Saturday somewhere in Bremerton.
9/21/07 - 9:08pm - Finch Fest was a blast, our new friends Rewind have invited us over to Bremerton to play a show Oct. 6th, more details to follow.......was up until 2:00am posting "lose yourself" video, had some trouble with the audio/video sync which I was able to figure out.....*geek alert*..... the H.264 codec is amazing, god bless Apple, athough I am a confirmed Windoze user....end of *geek alert*.....more videos to come, I'm hooked, but I think I'm suppose to record some new songs first....I can't wait until cloning is a reality so I can do two (or more!) things at once
9/13/07 - 1:28am - Rehearsal nite - we started with "La Sabbathica" - which I totally botched - so we moved on and wrote a set list for Finch Fest, and played it, sounded great. DJ had a massive headache but hung in there thru the entire set. Also ran thru couple of new ideas for "LaScorpia" ......Oh, and I lost a $10 bet with John...
9/6/07 - 12:43am - Rehearsal nite - played a couple of warm up tunes, then we noodled around with "LaScorpia" but it wasn't really lighting a fire under our asses so we switched to working on the "Sabbath" sounding tune, and we made much progress, this is going to be a great song.
9/4/07 - 12:42am - We had a great show on Friday, I spent the rest of my Labor Day weekend putting the final touches on the"Lose Yourself" video, hopefully I'll have it up this week....looks like we're playing "Finch Fest" in Federal Way Sept. 15th featuring skateboards, free beer and a wet t-shirt contest......oh yes, it was also rehearsal nite, we worked on "La Scorpia" and "Sabbath" some more, we're becoming more '80's by the minute.
8/30/07 - 12:35am - Rehearsal nite - we worked up a set list for Friday then ran thru the set, firing on all cylinders as usual, no worries. "Chuggy Ultra Cool" will be played at Chiwawa's Friday nite, also we had a little time to work on the "Sabbath" tune (my new favorite!)
8/23/07 - 12:48am - Rehearsal nite - "Chuggy Ultra Cool" is a full blown song now and I wouldn't be surprised if we played it next Friday. Also, we re-visited "La Scorpia" and the "Sabbath" tune, both very cool song ideas.
8/21/07 - 12:49am - Rehearsal nite - ran through "Chuggy Ultra Cool" a few times, seems to be wrapped up. (In other words, a kick-ass new song!) Ran though a couple of songs from our set list, also we worked on a new song idea-very '80's sounding. Not much there yet except a couple of parts, but it already has a working title "La Scorpia"....which in Spanish I think translates to "we're trying to sound like The Scorpions". Oh, and I also learned we have a new show scheduled at our favorite Mexican bar/hangout -Chiwauwas Auburn Friday Aug. 31st.... I must be a glutton for punishment......
8/18/07 - 4:39am - Burned the midnite oil tonite and finished editing "Lose Yourself" video. Just a little post production left to do in After Effects, then show the boys, then I'll post it. I'm actually mildly shocked how well it looks, considering we shot it with my cheapo $200 camcorder...
8/15/07 - Rehearsal nite - worked on a new "Sabbath" sounding song, sounds very promising... also tightend up some parts on "Chuggy Ultra Cool"
8/13/2007 - Rehearsal nite - got our gear unloaded set back up and damn near finished that new song idea- working title is "Chuggy Ultra Cool"
8/12/07 - One of our best shows ever!! Awesome line-up, on a Saturday Nite at Hell's Kitchen, how can it go wrong??
8/8/07 - Rehearsal nite - worked out and rehearsed a set list for Saturday's show, then worked on new song idea (no working title yet).
8/6/07 - Rehearsal nite - worked on new song idea.
8/2/07 - Worked on the website some more.
8/1/07 - Rehearsal nite - ran thru a couple of songs for upcoming Hell's Kitchen Show and re-worked middle drum part for the song "T.I.T.S.". -
8/1/07 - Revamped website a little, more to come......
